Grade 4s: Please start thinking of what kind of gift you want to make for the potlatch. Remember that it has to be hand-made, show effort and care and be First Nations - inspired.
Here are some ideas:
- a framed picture
- a painted jewelry box
- a bracelet or necklace
- a stitched napkin
- a woven basket
- a wooden carving
Be creative and have fun with it!

L.A.:
Today we talked about clinchers (or ways to end a story). For the superhero stories students are required to have an interesting clincher.
We continued working on our superhero stories. Some students have moved onto the self-edit and peer-edit portions of the writing process. We have started using a new editing tool called "Dress Ups". Students are to go through their work and take note of things like dual adjectives, similes, sentence openers, etc. They mark these literary devices by writing down the corresponding number above them. Students will be doing this to edit their stories.
