Hello everyone, Our week is winding down and it has been exciting. Tomorrow, is Pajama and writing day. We ask that parents please send addresses of family and friends and Christmas cards. The afternoon will be spent writing, if you cannot make it that is okay because our students will work with their buddy class and help them write. Today, we had Mr. John Gilmore retired Math teacher from Howe Sound Secondary and author of Calculations without Calculators come and teach a math lesson to reinforce addition and subtraction skills with our students. Mr. Gilmore will be dropping by occasionally to teach a math lesson. Dancing is part of the Fine Arts and Physical Education curriculum. Our grade 4/5 class and Mrs. Galley's class have been folk dancing this week and will continue into next week. The students have learned Le Plongeur, the Virginia Reel and we have started to Polka. Students are realizing that dance is both physically and mentally draining. Social Studies: We are continuing to learn about the Canadian Government, this will continue until Christmas and then we will switch to Science. Math: Please continue to practice the times tables with students. (Ms. Dragaonov has sent home a Multiplication sheet that you and your child need to fill out when that number e.g. 4 times tables is known by heart). Health and Careers has been on hold this week and we will start up next week. |
